Twilight's Nikki Reed Engaged: "He's the One!"
06 Jun 2011
Looks like that Breaking Dawn wedding isn't the only prospective Twilight marriage on tap.
On the red carpet at the 2011 MTV Movie awards, Twilight star Nikki Reed flashed some serious bling when I asked her whether she thinks she and her man Paul McDonald will wed. And she had an answer ready.
"He's the one," she said. "He's the one."
A source confirms that the two are, indeed, engaged. Congratulations, you two. And guess what else she told me...
Reed says her man, who made it to the top 8 of American Idol this season, has been writing a bunch of songs in her honor! Aww.
"He says he's going to release a Nikki Reed EP," she said.
Sweet. Though if things continue this way maybe we will have a whole album to look forward to.

Kristen Stewart's 'Breaking Dawn' Wedding Was 'Magical'
05 Jun 2011
Elizabeth Reaser recalls nerves on set before the 'Twilight' ceremony.
There are plenty of scenes from Stephenie Meyer's "Breaking Dawn" that fans are looking forward to seeing translated to the big screen (and a few we might have to cover our eyes for). But the moment most can't wait to catch a glimpse of is the long-awaited wedding between Edward and Bella, shot earlier this year as the cast and crew wrapped up years of filming the entire "Twilight Saga."
Elizabeth Reaser (who plays vampire matriarch Esme Cullen) said it was an emotional moment on the set when Kristen Stewart walked down the aisle as Bella, anticipating her transition from her old life as a human to becoming a member of the vampire Cullen clan.
"Well, the wedding scene was like a real wedding, in that it was stressful. It took a lot of planning, a lot of organization. That was stuff we were all dealing with [and it was like] you were planning a real wedding," she told MTV News before screening and chatting about "The Art of Getting By" for MTV's Sneak Peek Week.
"And the nerves ... I mean, there was an added element of nervousness when we were shooting it, maybe because there were helicopters and people jumping out of trees with cameras, but it was definitely a heightened couple of days on set," she continued, alluding to the paparazzi who were stalking the set, hoping to capture the shoot before its official release. "It took several days to shoot, and at a certain point you don't want to be in a corset anymore."
In the end, it was worth the uncomfortable clothing and obnoxious press.
"But it was really magical, and vampires aren't supposed to cry, and that created a real obstacle for all of us vampires," Reaser said. "Seeing Kristen walk down with aisle with [her movie dad] Billy Burke. I mean, seeing Billy Burke killed me. I understood in that moment what it's like to be a parent and seeing Kristen and see her really be nervous and see Rob really, really be nervous, and the two of them [together with] the families coming together; it was an emotional day for real."

Sam Claflin Feels 'Lucky' To Be Kristen Stewart's Prince In 'Snow White'
06 May 2011
'I'm truly sort of flabbergasted,' the 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' actor says of his next role.
Ever since it was announced that "Twilight" superstar Kristen Stewart had signed up to play yet another beloved character, Snow White, in "Snow White and the Huntsman," her rabid fans have been eagerly anticipating news of who would play her Prince Charming. The lucky man is British actor Sam Claflin, whom you will soon see in the upcoming blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."
When MTV caught up with Claflin and his "Pirates" co-star Astrid Berges-Frisbey recently, we asked the young actor about working with Stewart.
"I'm very excited," he said. "I'm a big fan of her work. I'm truly sort of flabbergasted — that's a good word, I love that."
"She's lucky," Berges-Frisbey chimed in about Claflin.
"No, I'm very lucky," Claflin said with a smile. "Very, very lucky."
"They are really lucky [to have him]," Berges-Frisbey continued. "Because Sam is such a good actor and such a good partner. He's really generous."
"I'm just looking forward to getting my teeth into something new as well," Claflin said. "I've never had so much fun [as I did] doing ['Pirates'], working with Astrid and all the other actors. Being able to get my teeth into something new is something I'm really looking forward to."
Based on the legendary fairy tale, "Snow White and the Hunstman" follows the titular princess after the evil queen Ravenna calls for her death, centering on the huntsman who disobeys orders and allows the fair maiden to live. The updated story will break from convention by having the huntsman mentor and train Snow White to fight off Ravenna herself. The evil queen will be played by Charlize Theron, and the search is on for a new huntsman — the current rumored contender being "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth.

Gallery Update - Entertainment Weekly's First look at the 'Twilight' finale!
02 May 2011
Entertainment Weekly has the featured scoop on 'Breaking Dawn', which is currently out in newsstands with two different covers to choose from. Along with the feature they have released some movie stills, some of which are different than the high quality stills just recently posted. Photos have been added to the gallery.
Fans have waited years to see Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) tie the knot, and the wedding scene, scheduled for the end of production on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, proved to be equally climactic for those involved. “It was one of the coolest things that I’ve done,” says Stewart. “There was a certain point when I walked on set, and I saw everyone from the entire cast sitting there in the pews, about to do their bit. And it was just so perfect for me in that moment. It was so emotional in such a real way. I literally felt like thanking them for coming.”
But filming wasn’t always quite so idyllic. As the stars and director tell EW, Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 (in theaters November 18 and November 2012) involved a grueling, globe-trotting shoot, and scenes far darker, bloodier, and more polarizing than any in the franchise so far. If audiences haven’t matured with the Twilight books, they’re about to grow up fast. “We shot everything — whether it’s the lovemaking or the childbirth — as potent and powerful as it can be,” says director Bill Condon, who knew he was working within the constraints of a PG-13 rating. “It will be interesting to see whether there will be people who think it too disturbing for this universe.” For her part, Stewart wishes the movie could have been even truer to the graphic nature of the book — not so much the honeymoon sequence (“It feels like a real love scene, not necessarily vampire-y, which is good”), but the brutal birth of the baby, Renesmee. “It’s funny because when [the PG-13 issue] comes up, everybody thinks it’s all about the sex,” she says. “The birth is really effective, and I’ve heard it really hits you in the face. But what it could have been? It could have been shocking and grotesque, because that’s how it was written in the book.” She sighs: “I would have loved to have been puking up blood.”
Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob, says that even being a member of the wolf pack didn’t have its privileges. “Everybody is always complaining to me that I don’t have to wear the contacts, I don’t have to wear the white makeup or wear wigs and all that stuff. And I’m like, ‘I’m the one in the freezing rain and cold not wearing a shirt! I paid my dues in New Moon and Eclipse.’” And as for his plot arc in Part 2, which will involve falling for — or imprinting on — Renesmee? “There were many times I walked up to Stephenie [Meyer] and asked her, ‘What exactly is imprinting?’” says Lautner. “It’s still a very confusing thing for me, so don’t ask.”

Inside Robert Pattinson's Career Crossroads
27 Apr 2011
His period circus romance "Water for Elephants" overperforms at the box office this weekend.
Robert Pattinson's period circus romance Water for Elephants, costarring Reese Witherspoon, exceeded box office expectations this past Easter weekend, earning an estimated $17.5 million from 2,817 locations.
So does this mean Pattinson has a film career outside the successfully popular Twilight film franchise? That remains to be seen. Elephants isn't the runaway hit that each Twilight film is and that’s what will lead studios to clamor to hand him more starring roles, casting agencies tell The Hollywood Reporter.
Fans of the vampire saga certainly didn't come out in droves to see his 2010 romantic drama Remember Me or his 2008 Salvador Dali biopic, Little Ashes. Elephants benefited from Fox’s marketing team, which targeted fans of the Twilight book. (At the film's premiere, representatives from groups like TwilightMOMS were assigned spots on the red carpet, and its site has documented Pattinson's every move in promoting Elephants. Other Twilight fan sites have done the same.) Fox also wisely played up the love story between Pattinson and Witherspoon, who now will begin promoting Elephants overseas, where it begins rolling out in earnest April 29. (Based on Sara Gruen’s bestselling book, Elephants drew an A- CinemaScore and played heavily to adult women. Females made up 70 percent of the audience, while 70 percent were over the age of 25.) "It is a great number for an adult film," Fox senior vice president of domestic distribution Bert Livingston tells THR. "When a movie shows emotion, that's what draws you in."
But Pattinson may need to think about his next few film roles. He already has the period piece Bel Ami (which has no release date set) in the works, as well as David Cronenberg's adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel, Cosmopolis. Colin Farrell was originally eyed for the project which centers on a 28-year-old financial wizard and billionaire (Pattinson) as he traverses Manhattan in his stretch limo. "He's moved on from teenage heartthrob roles," says NYC casting agency owner Donna DeSeta, who has not worked with the actor. "He's certainly made the right career moves. So there is a really good chance his career could go somewhere."
His only hurdle? "He has a charisma, a presence and obviously can act," says casting director Melissa Braun of Grant Wilfley Casting. "It's just how well he can develop that talent into something that people can see past." Braun advises Pattinson avoid more romantic lead roles. She cited Johnny Depp as one actor who has taken on a diverse parts, from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise to mobster dramas like Public Enemies. Says Braun, "If you want to follow the path of Johnny Depp, that's the thing to do."
Pattinson (who just wrapped Breaking Dawn's final chapter) is aware of his critics. "I always see these things like, 'Can he act or not?,'" he recently told USA Today. "It's like, I'm nothing like Edward. What do you think I'm doing in that?" For now, he is going to have a tough time shrugging off the furor from the Twilight franchise (Summit Entertainment is releasing Breaking Dawn, Part 1 this November, but Part 2 will not be released until November 2012). Would he do a franchise again? Says the actor, "Only if I could have a lot of say in the development of it."
