Kristen Stewart Jury Duty Pic Triggers Mini Scandal
04 Feb 2010
Kristen Stewart was just trying to do her civic duty. Too bad it's put two men into some real doodie.
The Twilight starlet (and reigning Vanity Fair covergirl) appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week to serve jury duty. Apparently, one of the security guards was a Twi-hard and asked K.Stew to pose for a quick camera-phone photo. Obviously, she was in the giving mood, she obliged.
However, it appears that perhaps K.Stew shouldn't have been so generous. The guard's pal (who was also there) then allowed his wife to post the picture on the Internet...and now the two men could lose their jobs because of it.

Vanity Fair Preview: Kristen Stewart & Anna Kendrick
01 Feb 2010

Vanity Fair has released a preview of their upcoming March issue featuring the current hottest actresses in Hollywood. Here is some snippets about Anna and Kristen:
At just 24, Anna Kendrick has already shown impressive range, from Bella Swan’s twit friend Jessica in the Twilight saga to George Clooney’s buttoned-up colleague in Up in the Air. At age 12, the Maine native was nominated for a Tony Award, for her role in the 1998 musical High Society. After she auditioned for the role of Natalie in Up in the Air, she thought she’d tanked, given director Jason Reitman’s utter non-reaction. Turned out he’d written the role for her, after having seen her in the small high-school film Rocket Science. Next, she’ll star with Michael Cera and Jason Schwartzman in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
In an era in which every teen star has a stylist and a bland pop record, 19-year-old Kristen Stewart is the tough-minded, no-frills anomaly. Stewart played Bella Swan not as a cartoon but as anxious and complicated—making the predicament of being torn between a vampire and a werewolf seem … well, almost plausible. The daughter of a television-producer father and an Australian script-supervisor mother, the L.A.-bred Stewart has been consistently drawn to melancholy over flash. Between Twilight installments, her edgy trajectory will continue with Welcome to the Rileys, about the friendship between a stripper and a married businessman, played by James Gandolfini, and The Runaways, about rocker Joan Jett.

Kristen Stewart’s Haiti Donation
27 Jan 2010
While George Clooney, Robert Pattinson, and practically every other celeb in the world helped raise more than $57 Million for Haiti relief, one star was upset she couldn't partake in the telethon last Friday: Kristen Stewart.
The Twilight babe was traveling Friday to Park City for the Sundance Film Festival, 'cause K.Stew had two films (Welcome to the Rileys and The Runaways) premiering.
But don't think that stopped her from helping out…
At the premiere for Welcome to the Rileys, the film's producers, Giovanni Agnelli and Scott Bloom, filled us in on Kristen's idea of how to help raise money for Haiti.
K.Stew & Co. raised cash by hosting four lucky ladies in Park City. The fortunate four paid handsomely for the privilege of a free plane ticket, a place to stay and the pleasure of Kristen's company.
"They paid, like, a thousand dollars a piece for tickets which went to support the cause for Haiti," says Agnelli.

Video: Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning Talk about The Runaways
27 Jan 2010
Twilight star Kristen Stewart plays punk rocker Joan Jett in the upcoming biographical film The Runaways, about the band of the same name. Although Stewart and her co-star, Dakota Fanning, are young enough to be Jett’s children, the two were already hip to Jett and The Runaways before they were asked to star in the film. Here, Stewart and Fanning talk with V.F.’s Krista Smith about the importance of music in their lives, what it’s like to portray rock stars, and meeting the the seminal 70s teen-girl punk outfit.

Kristen Stewart And Dakota Fanning On 'Runaways' Kissing Scene: It Was 'Not Done For Shock Value'
25 Jan 2010
“New Moon” costars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning have taken a bit of a detour from their vampire-inspired acting skills and brought it to a whole new level at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Though the duo shares an onscreen kiss in the rock-and-roll indie flick “The Runaways,” the two insist that it wasn’t much of a big deal, in their eyes.
MTV News caught up with the ladies in Park City to ask them about their roles in the film. "I don't think it was ever a big deal to me," explained Dakota, who plays Runaways lead singer Cherie Currie, adding that having Cherie and Joan Jett (Kristen) kiss in the film "was just a thing, another day" for the characters.
Kristen agreed with her pal insisting that the kiss was just a part of the script and not done for shock value. "It was never a big deal to me either ... especially the way it was written into the story and the way it wasn't, 'And they finally get together,' " she explained.
KStew also went on to explain that the kiss was merely a reflection of the girls’ friendship in the film, and it isn’t really as controversial as it sounds. "It's like it was just one night, and they have such an awesome bond that's so cool to observe, so the fact that they made out when they were teenagers has nothing to do with it."

Sundance Runaways Kristen Stewart & Dakota Fanning Share the Screen—and a Kiss!
24 Jan 2010
I loved The Runaways. It really does rock. The movie is the true-life story of the short-lived but legendary all-girl rock band, with Kristen Stewart starring as Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie.
Stewart does what she does best: play the anguished outsider. But Fanning really nails it as the 15-year drug-abusing sex kitten Cherie. This is a Dakota you have never seen, getting so lost in the role that there are times she is almost unrecognizable. Full of sex (including Fanning and Stewart locking lips), drugs and rock 'n' roll, The Runaways is not for the prudish....
Or for Stewart and Fanning's younger Twilight fans.
Revolutionary Road's Michael Shannon plays the band's eccentric svengali producer, Kim Fowley. He's got some laugh-out-loud lines, most of which are D-I-R-T-Y—dirty!
And, as an added bonus, entering that fun crossroads where art intersects life, Jett herself hit Sundance last night when she performed at Harry O's—with Stewart and Fanning making a quickie appearance before the show. Let The Runaways resurgence begin!

Kristen Stewart & Dakota Fanning Join Joan Jett on Stage at Sundance
24 Jan 2010
It was one rockin' night in Park City, Utah, on Saturday when Joan Jett & The Blackhearts hit the stage at the Harry O's Concert Series.
In town lending her support to The Runaways, the biopic about Jett's '70s band The Runaways, the singer took the stage in a one-piece sequined leotard and sneakers.
But it wasn't her fashion choice that got the crowd going – it was special guests Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, who star in the movie premiering at the Sundance Film Festival.
After thanking the film's director, Floria Sigismondi, and other folks who worked on the film, Jett gave a shout-out to Stewart and Fanning who'd come up onstage, and thanked them in front of the audience.
Stewart, in ripped jeans and a dark hoodie, and Fanning, in sleek dark outfit and heels, waved and smiled as the crowd broke into thunderous applause. The two soon retreated backstage where they finished watching Jett's incredible show out of the spotlight.
The Runaways premieres Sunday at the Sundance Film Festival.

Sundance Review: Kristen Stewart's 'Welcome To The Rileys'
24 Jan 2010
Kristen Stewart is utterly fearless in "Welcome to the Rileys." That's the takeaway from the film's world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday afternoon. You can quibble all you want with her portrayal of a 16-year-old runaway turned stripper and prostitute. But you cannot walk away from a viewing and say the actress doesn't fearlessly expose herself physically and emotionally, and doesn't do so with astonishing maturity and believability.
Working the lap dance rooms and seedy motels of New Orleans, Stewart's character (real name Allison, working girl name Mallory and many others) is a damaged runaway with a filthy mouth and an even filthier idea of how to make money. There is little sexy about this teen, as she's prayed on by faceless men; the camera catches every pimple, every dark circle under her eye, every strand of stringy hair that has seen far too much strip club cigarette smoke and not enough shampoo (and no, she does not once get naked). Her life is going nowhere until a plumbing supply salesman named Doug Reily (James Gandolfini) shows up and takes Allison under his wing.
